Yeah, go to da liberry and look dat shiznit up.
Athalete, artic, heighth...man, it's scary how many of these were taught to me by my elementary school teachers.
My second grade teacher read us a story about Roald Amundsen, the first man to reach the south pole, but she kept pronouncing it as "Ronald." I was following along in my book, and later I asked her why she was saying it like that.
Her response was that "the kids have never heard the name Roald." Because the last thing a teacher wants to do is teach kids about something they don't know.
I'm feeling especially vindicated with sherbet and herbs. Thanks for making my day with this lovely link.
